I've got a 94 Jeep Cherokee with glass all around and thus good visibility. It's got good clearance, although I'm sad I wasn't able to find a 4WD stick and I got a 2WD auto. I'm not going to drive it like a sports car, and I doubt whether her '86 Civic (is that one of those little boxes, or was that '83 and earlier?) has too much power for hill climbing. I've also got an '86 Mitsubishi Mighty Max for sale, if anyone's in L.A. ;)

Do you object to the SUVs or to the folks you see driving them?

I have no objection to SUVs as long as nobody drives them on city streets.

Virginia forgot to mention the (usual) passle of kids in the back who are climbing all over the SUV sort of like monkees. Every time I see one of those gal (yes, with the cellphone) in the supermarket parking lot, talking on the phone, while trying to straighten out and settle down the kids, I wonder how much sleep she's had. And I try to stay away from them as far as possible.
